Matowelia

Matowelia
   Culture hero of the Mohave Indians of Colorado who led them from the ‘White Mountain’ to their present abode. Later it was believed that the souls of those who had been cremated returned to the White Mountain and those who had not been ritually buried passed the rest of their existence as screech-owls.
